Veterans Memorial Brick Sale
VFW Post 6291 is selling paving bricks to be placed in the Murray~Calloway County Veterans Memorial at the corner of Chestnut and 10th Streets. The bricks may be purchased “in honor of” or “in memory of” individuals who have taken the oath of enlistment to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and have honorably served.
The purchase of these bricks is open to anyone who has honorably served their country. They need not have lived in Murray or Calloway County to be eligible to have a brick purchased and placed in their honor. Individuals may have served in the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S Marine Corps, U.S. Navy or the U.S. Coast Guard.
If a family is purchasing several memorial bricks, these bricks can be placed together as a group, if desired, regardless of branch of service or era they have served. However, in order to insure they are placed together, these bricks must be ordered at the same time. Once placed in the memorial, bricks will not be relocated to accommodate grouping.
Information engraved on the bricks may include: individuals name, rank achieved, branch of service, location of service, years of service, any special awards, etc. However, keep in mind that there is limited space available on the bricks. Three lines of engraving are available and may contain only 13 characters per line. (a character is: comma, letter, number, dash, space, etc)
